BSA Honors Barry Lane for 2022 Leadership Award

(September 27, 2022) - Barry Lane, Avery, Palm Desert, California, was selected as the honoree for the 2022 Leadership Award for the Business Solutions Association (BSA).

“Barry Lane has made an outstanding contribution to our industry. He has inspired and mentored many people over the years by setting the industry standard for managing and maintaining excellent customer relationships,” said Travis Kaste, 3M Corporation, BSA President. “Barry truly is a leader in our industry, and we are pleased to honor Barry with BSA’s 2022 Leadership Award.”

Lane began his career in the commercial office products industry in 1978 and joined Avery in 1982. For the past 44 years, he has held various sales leadership roles in the commercial, superstore, and retail channels throughout North America, and is currently Avery’s Vice President of Commercial Sales.

Lane devoted his time and energy building strong customer relationships, manufacturer peer group exchanges, and supporting the industry’s charitable efforts. Lane has always been actively involved in the industry and has participated in many trade associations, particularly BSA and AOPD. From 2016-2019, Lane served as the president of BSA. Prior to being elected president, he served as vice president and a board member of the association.  From 2013-2019, Lane served on the AOPD advisory board. He is also a member of a variety of different customer supplier councils.

Lane supported the National Office Products Industry of the City of Hope for 29 years. In 2015, he was the recipient of the prestigious City of Hope Hall of Fame Award.

Lane has two sons, Kirk and Todd. Kirk (37) resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife, Allison. Todd (35) resides in Chicago, Illinois with his wife, Schaefer.

Lane will receive the BSA Leadership Award at the Industry Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 10, during Industry Week, which takes place November 6 - 11, 2022 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
